Free carpet removal in El Paso with every hard-surface install

We do not install carpet. We pull it out, take up the pad and tack strips, haul it away and get your slab ready for what goes down next. It is part of the job, not a line item you find out about later.

What it includes

What free carpet removal in El Paso actually covers

The short answer

Carpet removal in El Paso is included with any hard-surface installation from El Paso Flooring Pros. We take out the old carpet and pad, pull the tack strips and staples, haul everything away and dispose of it, and prep the slab underneath. There is no separate charge for any of that.

What is not included is carpet removal as a standalone service with nothing going down after it, or new carpet installation, which we do not do at all.

Carpet and pad out

Cut, rolled and carried out. The pad underneath comes with it, along with whatever the last owner spilled on it.

Tack strips and staples pulled

Left in place they telegraph through a thin floating floor and interfere with thinset coverage under tile. They come out.

Hauled away and disposed

It leaves in our truck, not into a pile in your garage or your driveway waiting on bulk pickup.

What we usually find under El Paso carpet

A concrete slab, some old adhesive, and often a hairline crack or two that nobody has ever seen because carpet hides everything.

That is not a crisis. It is information. A crack in a slab tells us whether the tile going down needs a crack-isolation membrane, and a damp patch tells us whether wood is a bad idea in that room. Finding it at demo is exactly when you want to find it.

If a slab crack turns up under the carpet, you can look up the soil under your own address through the USDA Web Soil Survey and see why it happened. What we will not do is cover a problem and hope. If we find something that changes what should go down, you hear it from us before we go further.

Carpet removal questions

Is carpet removal really free?

It is included at no extra charge with any hard-surface flooring installation we do. Removal, haul-away and disposal of the old carpet and pad are part of the job, not a separate line item. What we do not do is carpet removal on its own as a standalone service.

Do you install carpet?

No. We install hard surfaces only: tile, natural stone, luxury vinyl plank, hardwood, engineered wood and laminate. Removing carpet is part of what we do. Putting new carpet down is not.

What happens to the tack strips and staples?

They come out. Tack strips get pried up and the staples that held the pad down get pulled, because anything left behind telegraphs through a thin floating floor or interferes with thinset coverage under tile.

Does the carpet have to come out before you can quote?

No. We measure over the existing carpet and factor removal and prep into the written quote. What we do want to see is any spot where the floor feels soft, uneven or damp, because that changes the prep.

What if there is damage under the carpet?

We tell you at the demo, before we go further. Sometimes it is a stain in the slab that means nothing. Sometimes it is a crack or a moisture issue that changes what should go down on top of it. Either way you hear about it from us and not from your floor two years later.

Can you remove carpet from stairs?

Yes. Stairs are more labor than a flat room, so they are itemized separately in the quote along with whatever finish goes back on them.
